  How she describes herself:
I am a confident, articulate, well-balanced individual who is educated, ambitious and independent living in Glasgow with my 8 year old. I am a Pakistani Sunni and Arain by caste.

I am not a fussy person who demands a lot. I am definitely not high maintenance. I am dependable and would describe myself as homely, quite traditional at times and would have no qualms if my husband wanted me to stay at home rather than work. I am however not one to stay at home all day every day. Being an active person I would need to get out and about and be involved in some sort of activity.

I serve on a housing association's management committee and also on a youth project's management committee. I am involved in a Muslim educational organisation and regularly engage in activities that would serve to educate me further or are of interest to me. I am very active within my community.

I am enthusiastic, responsible and hard working at everything I do. I think some people take marriage lightly and this can cause problems. I was only 20 when I got married and it was a 'love marriage'. I chose to leave him and consequently divorced him. My child and I do not have anything to do with him.

I don't mind living with in-laws or relocating. I am house proud, practical and sociable and enjoy going out and meeting new people and learning as much as possible. I am a qualified Beauty Therapist. I gained my degree from the University of Glasgow in Community Learning and Development and am currently studying for my second degree in Psychology. I aim to complete my studies and gain my doctorate and am planning to go into either educational or child psychology.

I would like to learn more about my religion with my partner and have been wearing the hijab for a year now. I do not read my salah/namaz regularly and hope to change this. Insha Allah I will go to Umrah and Hajj with my husband.

Unfortunately we tend to choose a partner initially based on their looks irrespective of what their character may be like. I am however aware that there needs to be physical attraction as well.

Islamically we can marry a person for four reasons – beauty, wealth, status and piety. This is probably the bit where I would narrate the story of the dying man who had four wives. He called his first wife to nurse him but she sent word that she was too busy beautifying herself. He called for his second wife to nurse him who was too busy spending her wealth. He called for his third wife who claimed someone of her status shouldn’t have to nurse a dying man. His fourth wife approached him and looked after him because of the love she had for him and her Lord. I feel this is an important story one which ought to make one take stock of what they are looking for.

There is no miss or mr ‘perfect’.

  How she describes her family:
My family home is about a half an hour away. We tend to see each other occassionally.

How she describes the kind of person she's looking for:
What am I looking for?
I would like my partner to be BRITISH BORN and educated who values honesty, faithfulness and loyalty. I would like him to be ambitious, intelligent, strong, funny, open-minded, compromising and there for us at all times.

I would like him to be adventurous, have integrity, be able to commit and communicate with his partner. It would be nice to have a shared vision as to where we would be heading.

Being a polite and humble and helpful person will get you brownie points as will being non-judgemental, generous (with personality not monetary) and genuine.

I'm 5'9" with heels! I would like to get married 'as soon as possible' but that all depends on how long it takes to get to know one another and other practicalities. This brings in the question ‘how long does it take to get to know one another’ and ‘is it possible to fully know a person before marriage’.

My little princess is the light of my life and I hope would be my husbands too. I would like my husband to cherish my daughter as if she were his from the beginning.
